A new report, Society at a Glance 2011 - OECD Social Indicators (h/t externalities), includes interesting data from the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems on the gap between the turnout rates of highly and poorly educated voters.
The US disparity is especially notable, with highly educated voters (“university level,” by the CSES definition) participating at a rate of 85.8% compared to a 53.1% turnout rate among lower educated voters (“none to incomplete secondary education”).
